Vol. 9 No. 19

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - REPRESENTATION AT WEMBLEY EXHIBITION.

asked the Vice-President whether, in view of the fact that the Wembley Exhibition is to be continued in 1925, the Executive Council have reconsidered their decision as to the representation of the Saorstát thereat.

The Executive Council proposes to have inquiries made as to how far the trade and industry of the country would be prepared to support, in a practical way, participation in this Exhibition next year. A decision will be based on the result of these inquiries.

Does the Minister realise that time is the essence of the problem, and that if a quick decision is taken we may be able to pick up a second-hand palace cheap, whereas otherwise we may have to spend a good deal of money building a new one.

I realise some of the things the Deputy stated, but I also realise that the decision has not yet officially been taken and announced to continue the Wembley Exhibition next year.

Does the Minister also realise that there is a considerable amount of disappointment amongst those who exhibited this year as to the value of the exhibition?
