Vol. 9 No. 27

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - OCCUPATION OF NENAGH WORKHOUSE BY BRITISH.

DOMHNALL O MUIRGHEASA

asked the Minister for Finance if he can state what steps, if any, have been taken to obtain from the British Government the amount due to the late Board of Guardians of Nenagh Union in respect of the occupation of, and damage done to, the Nenagh Workhouse premises by British troops and Royal Irish Constabulary from September, 1921, to February, 1922.

The claim in respect of damage done during the occupation of the Nenagh Workhouse by British forces is at present the subject of consideration by the Department of Local Government and Public Health. There is no record of the receipt of a claim for rent or for excess expenditure incurred by the Guardians by reason of the occupation.
