Vol. 10 No. 2

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CORK SCHOOL OF MUSIC GRANT.

asked the Minister for Finance if he can state when it is intended to ratify the promise made on 6th May, 1924, to the effect that arrangements would be made for the payment of a sum of £267 1s. 8d. to the Cork School of Music on account of the grant of £1,425 voted by the Second Dáil Eireann in connection with a scheme for the publication of Irish music, in view of the fact that the conditions under which this promise was made have been complied with since June last.

My statement of the 6th May last was to the effect that I was in communication with the Minister for Education with a view to arranging for the additional payment of the sum of £267 1s. 8d., mentioned in the Question, on satisfactory evidence being furnished that liabilities up to that limit had been in fact incurred and that satisfactory work had been done. The information, so far as supplied to me, does not enable me to authorise a payment on this basis.
