The rules for the payment of increments of salary to secondary teachers are being printed and will be available shortly. I am not yet in a position to make a complete statement as to the new system of grants for secondary schools or the salaries which these schools will be required to pay to their teachers, as certain details are not settled.
It is hardly fair to press the Minister for Industry and Commerce, who is only answering on behalf of the Minister for Education, but I would like to ask is he aware of the length of time these details have been awaited and the importance of having these details known as early as possible.
