Vol. 10 No. 4

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - BOMFORD AND ROLLEY ESTATES (CO. MEATH).

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the estate of Miss Sadlier Bomford, and the Rolley Estate, both at Drumlargan, Kilcock, Co. Meath, for distribution, and, if so, whether he will expedite the acquisition of these estates, and many others in the district.

Mr. HOGAN

The Land Commission have gazetted untenanted lands comprising 631 acres 3 roods 9 perches of the townland of Drumlargan, County Meath, on the estates of A.A. Bomford, for acquisition under the Land Act, 1923. It is not possible at present to say when the lands will be vested in the Land Commission.

The lands of Drumlargan on the Rolley Estate, which are also referred to in the question, do not appear to be untenanted, but constitute a holding which is subject to a judicial tenancy. The estate will in due course be vested in the Land Commission, and will be dealt with by the Commissioners in accordance with the provisions of the Act.
