Vol. 10 No. 17

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CONNAUGHT RANGERS' COMPENSATION CLAIMS.

asked the Minister for Finance if he can state what progress, if any, has been made by the Committee appointed to inquire into the claims to compensation, and the amount of same, to be awarded to the men of the Connaught Rangers, who were convicted in India in 1920.

The Committee referred to in the question has been appointed and will proceed with its work without delay. The appointment of the Committee does not mean more than that there is a case for inquiry, and it must not be assumed that the inquiry will result in the payment of compensation.
