Vol. 11 No. 1

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - THE FOREMAN ESTATE (CLIFDEN).

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether a memorial has been received from residents in Clifden, Co. Galway, that a large tract of land on the Estate, which is at present used solely for grazing purposes and is held under a grazing agreement by a man who is a non-resident, should be acquired by the Land Commission with a view to enlarging the holdings of certain uneconomic holders in the area, and if he will state what action has been taken or is intended to be taken as a result of the receipt of the memorial.

Mr. HOGAN

The reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative.

The lands referred to appear to be those occupied by Mrs. Pye, in the townland of Ardagh, on the estate of Doctor Foreman, County Galway; inquiries are being made.
