Vol. 11 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - EX-R.I.C. PENSION CLAIM.

SEAN PRIOMHDHAIL

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the reason of the delay in granting a pension to Richard Long, 66213, who, it is stated, resigned from the R.I.C. because of National sympathies.

Richard Long's application for a pension was unfavourably reported on by the Committee of Inquiry into Resignations and Dismissals from the Royal Irish Constabulary, but new evidence has been furnished to me which was not before the Committee, and is now the subject of inquiry in my Department. There will be no avoidable delay in communicating my decision to the applicant.
