Vol. 12 No. 6

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ADMINISTRATION OF LAOIGHIS PUBLIC BODIES.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he has received the report of the inspector who was appointed to inquire into the administration of the Laoighis County Council and Board of Health, if and when same will be published, and what action (if any) he proposes to take arising out of same.

I have received these reports, and they are being communicated to the authorities concerned for their observations. Having regard to the proximity of the local elections, I do not propose to dissolve either of the bodies concerned. The county council have been asked to give publicity to the report.

Would it not be advisable that the Minister should provide the reports for publication rather than that the responsibility should be thrown upon the local authority, against whom accusations have been made in this case?

I will bring that point to the notice of the Minister for Local Government.
