Vol. 13 No. 2

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PENSION BENEFITS FOR EX-ARMY MEN SUFFERING FROM DISABILITIES.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state whether the Executive Council intend to introduce legislation that will enable ex-Army men suffering from tuberculosis, bronchitis, neurasthenia, mental trouble and other disabilities, to participate in pension benefits.

It is intended to introduce amending Army Pension legislation, but the scope of such legislation has not yet been finally determined.

Can the Minister say when?

I regret that I cannot fix a date.

Will it be before this time twelve months or this time two years?

I hope so.

Perhaps before the next general election or the next bye-election.
