Vol. 13 No. 17

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LORD LONGFORD ESTATE.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will state whether it is the intention of the Land Commission to take over Lord Longford's Estate, or the portion of it known as Kiltoom and Williamstown, situated near Castlepollard, Westmeath; also, if and when the Land Commission will take over for distribution the lands known as the Gradwell Estate, situated near Castlepollard, Westmeath, and thus relieve the congestion existing amongst the large number of uneconomic holders and landless men living on and in the vicinity of those lands.

The question of the purchase of the lands of Kiltoom and Williamstown on the estate of Lord Longford is under consideration by the Land Commission.

The Commissioners are taking proceedings with a view to the acquisition of the Gradwell Estate.
