Vol. 13 No. 19

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - VETERINARY SURGEON'S CLAIM (CAVAN).

asked the Minister for Finance if any consideration has yet been given by the Committee set up under the Indemnity Act, 1924, to the compensation claim of Thomas J. Carroll, V.S., Cavan, for damage and loss sustained by the dismantling of his motor car by British forces in 1920 and 1921; if any award has been made or when payment may be expected.

The case referred to by the Deputy is not one for consideration by the Indemnity Act Committee, but by the Compensation (Ireland) Commission. The Commission are understood to have the case under consideration, but no award has yet been advised to my Department.

Would the Minister take steps to have the decision hastened?

I cannot.
