CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - STUDENTS IN AGRICULTURAL COLLEGES.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he can state the total number of students who attended the following institutions: (1) the Albert Agricultural College, Glasnevin; (2) the Athenry Agricultural Station; (3) the Ballyhaise Agricultural Station; (4) the Clonakilty Agricultural Station; (5) the Munster Institute, Cork, respectively, in the academic year 1925-26, together with the total amount of fees paid in respect of such attendance.

The average fee would be about £12 12s. There is a waiting list of 297 for entrance to the Munster Institute.

Is there any waiting list in regard to the other institutions?

Mr. HOGAN

I am not quite sure. I think there is a waiting list for the Albert Agricultural College.

It is not on the same scale?

Mr. HOGAN

No.

It is commonly believed that there is a large waiting list of horticultural students for the Albert Agricultural College.

Mr. HOGAN

I believe there is. The horticultural apprentices who attended at the Albert Agricultural College numbered 9. They pay no fees.
