Vol. 15 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LIQUOR COMMISSION REPORT.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state if, and when, legislation will be introduced dealing with the Report of the Liquor Commission.

The Executive Council has considered the report of the Intoxicating Liquor Commission and has accepted amongst other recommendations the recommendation that the licensing laws should be codified. This codification is a task of considerable magnitude and difficulty and I do not hope to be in a position to introduce an Intoxicating Liquor Bill before the summer recess. I should hope, however, that such a Bill will be ready for introduction early in the autumn session.

Is the Minister aware that there is no public demand for any alteration in the licensing trade?

I am not aware of that.
