Vol. 16 No. 21

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - REPAIR OF POSTMEN'S HUTS.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the bad repair and appearance of postmen's huts situated in rural districts of the Saorstát, particularly in Longford and Westmeath, and if and when it is proposed to have the said huts repaired and painted.

I am not aware that any of the postmen's shelter huts in Longford or Westmeath, or in any other portion of the rural district of An Saorstát, are in a bad state of repair or in need of re-painting. Shelter huts are inspected periodically and any defects observed at this inspection, or brought under notice at any time by the postman using the hut, are remedied without delay. If, however, the Deputy is aware of any huts requiring renovation or repairs and will furnish me with particulars I shall have attention given to the matter.
