Vol. 20 No. 20

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - TRAFFIC REGULATIONS AT FAIRVIEW.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that representations have been made to the Gárda authorities by the residents of Windsor Avenue with regard to two-way heavy vehicular traffic, due to the removal of a wall at the Croydon Park end, resulting in serious damage to house property in the avenue, and to ask what steps, if any, have been taken by the Gárda authorities to prohibit this heavy vehicular traffic.

No representations have been made to the Gárda Síochána in the Dublin Metropolitan Division as to damage to house property in Windsor Avenue resulting from heavy motor traffic. I understand that this avenue is not at present used to any serious extent by heavy vehicles.

Mr. BYRNE

Is the President aware that two-ton and four-ton lorries are using this avenue frequently? I can bear personal testimony to that fact myself.

Only to this extent, that they are being used, at present, in connection with building operations, but directly the building operations are concluded the avenue will not further be used for heavy traffic.

Mr. BYRNE

I beg to assure the President that the vehicles I refer to are not used in connection with the building in the Croydon Park area.
