Vol. 21 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether it is his intention to introduce legislation in the present session to give effect to the recommendations of the Departmental Committee of Inquiry into Workmen's Compensation, and, if so, whether, before introducing such legislation, he will take steps to have the evidence submitted to the Committee published for the information and guidance of the public.

Draft legislation to give general effect to the recommendations of the Committee is in an advanced stage. I am not at present in a position to say when it will be introduced. To print the evidence given before the Committee would involve considerable expense and would appear unnecessary. If Deputies so desire I can have some typed copies of the evidence placed in the Library.
