Vol. 21 No. 3

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - DIVISION OF CO. ROSCOMMON LANDS.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether he will state the intentions of the Land Commission regarding the distribution of the Wolfe-Flanagan (O'Connor, tenant), estate, Elphin, and whether he will state when these lands will be divided.

The Land Commission are about to institute proceedings for the acquisition of approximately 1,100 acres of lands in the townlands of Killiroy, Garrynphort, Ardagh, Lurgan, Drishaghaun and Bella, on the O'Connor Estate, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923.

It is expected that these lands will be published in "Iris Oifigiúil" at an early date in a provisional list of lands which will, if not excluded in consequence of a valid objection, become vested in the Land Commission on the "Appointed Day." The Land Commission are, however, not in a position to state at this stage when the lands will be divided.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether he will state if the Land Commission have acquired the Kilvoy lands (O'Connor Estate), Mantua, Castlerea, and, if not, whether they propose to acquire same for distribution, and whether he can state when these lands will be divided.

The Land Commission have taken proceedings under Section 24 (1) of the Land Act, 1923, for the compulsory acquisition of 480 acres of the lands of Elphin, on the estate of Marie M.C. O'Connor, Executrix of Arthur O'Connor (Record No. S.5877). The price of the lands has been fixed by the Land Commission, but the owner has lodged an appeal to the Judicial Commissioner, which has not yet been heard.
