Vol. 21 No. 6

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - OLD AGE PENSION CLAIM (BOYLE).

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he can state on what grounds an old age pension was refused to Michael Kearns, Smutternagh, Corrigeenroe, Boyle.

It was determined on appeal on the 28th July last that this claimant was not entitled to an old age pension, as it was not shown on the evidence submitted that he had attained the statutory age of 70 years.

Is the Minister aware that five affidavits from people bordering on 80 years of age, showing that the claimant was born in March, 1857, and a sixth affidavit, asked for by the Department, that he was next older than his sister, Fanny, who was born in February, 1859, are in the Local Government Department?

If this is additional information or if there is any additional evidence to be submitted in the matter, a fresh claim can be made, but as far as the appeal of the 28th July last is concerned, the decision on that appeal is final.
