Vol. 21 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - THE SALE OF IMPORTED PORK.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if his attention has been drawn to a statement made at a meeting of Sligo County Committee of Agriculture, that a consignment of frozen pork, received in Sligo during the last six months, had been cured and sold as "Irish cured bacon"; if he has received any report on this matter and what action, if any, has been taken against the vendors.

Mr. HOGAN

My attention has been drawn to the statement referred to. The general question involved is one which has for a considerable time past been receiving the Department's careful attention, and will be fully considered in connection with the provisions of the Merchandise Marks Act now being prepared by the Department of Industry and Commerce.
