asked the Minister for Fisheries whether the deposits have yet been refunded to the members of the Kilmaine Co-operative Farming Society, Ltd. (Record No. L.B. 12, County Mayo); if not, can he say what is the present position of the matter, and how soon is it expected that the deposits will be returned.
WRITTEN ANSWERS. - KILMAINE CO-OPERATIVE FARMING SOCIETY, LTD.
In the estate of the Kilmaine Co-operative Farming Society, Limited, Co. Mayo, the deposit of £6,250 has been lodged in the Land Commission and invested in National Loan in accordance with the terms of Section 53 of the Land Act, 1923.
Under the provisions of Section 45 (i) of the Land Act, 1927, the Land Commission have power to refund the deposit, or part thereof, to the original contributors or to persons claiming through them, and forms of application for such refund have been forwarded to the contributors.
No refund of deposit has been made, and at the present stage of the proceedings it is not possible to state when any refund will be made by the Land Commission.
