Vol. 21 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - FATAL MULLINGAR ACCIDENT.

asked the Minister for Defence (a) if he will investigate the circumstances leading to the death of Michael Daly, of Newdown, The Downs, Mullingar, who died as a result of being run down by an Army tender at Windmill Hill, Mullingar, on the night of the 9th September, 1922, with a view to compensating his parents, whose principal support he was; (b) if the Minister is aware that writs would not be allowed to be served on the driver of the lorry by the solicitor acting on behalf of the father of the deceased.

If the Deputy will cause me to be furnished with a detailed statement of the circumstances referred to, I will have inquiries made and will communicate the result to him. I have no knowledge of the alleged refusal to allow writs to be served on the driver of the lorry.
