Vol. 21 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - COURTOWN HARBOUR BAR.

asked the Minister for Fisheries if he is aware that, owing to the condition of the bar of Courtown Harbour, the fishermen there are unable to pursue their occupation, and if any steps can be taken by the Department to have the harbour dredged.

I have not received any recent complaints as to the condition of Courtown Harbour, but am aware of its liability to silting. This harbour is in the charge of the Wexford County Council, and I am prepared to recommend a grant in aid towards such dredging operations there as the Council may find it necessary to undertake.
