Vol. 21 No. 11

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CAPPOQUIN OLD AGE PENSION CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he would state why an old age pension has been refused in the case of Thomas Duggan. Dromore, Villierstown, Cappoquin.

It was reported that this claimant was maintained on his brother's farm of 60 acres (Poor Law Valuation £50) with over 13 acres of tillage and 15 milch cows. No statement or evidence as to his means was submitted by or on behalf of the claimant. It was considered that his means, as calculated for old age pension purposes, consisting of maintenance on this substantial holding were beyond the pensionable limit, and the claim was disallowed on the 4th of June, 1927.
