Vol. 21 No. 12

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ENCROACHMENT OF SEA ON BURIAL GROUND.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health is he aware that the sea has encroached on the Abbey Burial Ground at Ballinskelligs, County Kerry, to the extent of sixteen feet, with the result that human bones and coffins are being washed away by high tides; if so, is he prepared to give a grant for the dual purpose of erecting a protecting wall to this graveyard and giving employment to people of this part of the Gaeltacht.

It is understood that this matter will be considered and dealt with at the next meeting of the Board of Health on the report of the Medical Officer of Health for Emlagh dispensary district. No Government moneys are available for grants for the erection of protection walls to graveyards.
