Vol. 21 No. 16

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - DAIL LOAN SUBSCRIPTION.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that Michael Kiely, The Square, Monasterevan, County Kildare, states he advanced the sum of two pounds to the Dáil Loan, and that though this money was repayable last June, it has not yet been returned to him, and whether he will inquire into the matter.

Repayment of the amount subscribed to the Dáil Eireann Internal Loan by Mr. Michael Kiely was duly authorised, and I understand that a savings certificate to enable him to obtain repayment, in accordance with the provisions of the Dáil Eireann Loans and Funds Act, 1924, was sent to him by the Department of Posts and Telegraphs on the 16th March last. The certificate has not been returned, nor has any application for repayment of the amount shown on the certificate been made. I am communicating with the Department of Posts and Telegraphs with a view to having inquiries made in the matter.
