Vol. 21 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - WOMEN APPLICANTS FOR MILITARY PENSIONS.

asked the Minister for Defence whether, in view of the statement of the Minister for Finance that women were eligible for military service pensions under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924, any pensions have been refused to women applicants, and, if so, on what grounds.

A pension has been refused to only one woman who applied on the prescribed form and within the prescribed time. It was not proved in her case to the satisfaction of the Board of Assessors that she rendered the minimum amount of military service required by sub-section 4 of Section 2 of the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924.
