Vol. 21 No. 18

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CLEANING OF A RIVER.

asked the Minister for Fisheries what is the result of the investigations with reference to the proposed cleaning of the river at Cloonahascragh, Cooloo, Moylough, and when the necessary work will be started there.

Mr. BOURKE (replying)

The Commissioners of Public Works have received a petition under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1925, in respect of a stream running from Derrynacrick Lough to the Grange River, and this appears to be the proposal indicated in the question. In view of the fact that over 500 petitions under the Act have to be dealt with, it has not yet been possible to investigate this proposal, but it will be dealt with at the earliest possible moment.
