Vol. 22 No. 2

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - LANDING STAGES ON THE SHANNON.

asked the Minister for Fisheries (a) if he will send an Inspector to investigate the condition of the landing stages on the mainland and also the islands of Inchmore and Inchturk on the Shannon; (b) if he is aware that the residents of those islands, who have recently been allotted holdings by the Land Commission, are unable to load stock either to or from the islands.

The condition of the landing stages on the islands of Inchmore used by the allottees of the estate of R.W. Smyth, Co. Westmeath, is being referred by the Land Commission to their Inspector to investigate. The Land Commission had no information to the effect that these allottees were unable to load stock to or from this island and adjoining island of Inchturk.
