Vol. 22 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PRISON OFFICERS' LODGING ALLOWANCES.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the number of prison officers whose applications for lodging allowances have been refused.

The number of prison officers at present serving whose applications for lodging allowance have been refused is six. In each of these six cases the officer concerned declined to utilise official quarters which were available. I am informed that one of these officers has purchased a house pending retirement under Article X. of the Treaty.
