Vol. 22 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - TULLOW LETTER DELIVERIES.

EAMON O DUBHGHAILL

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the fact that great hardship is being occasioned to the people of Tullow, County Carlow, as a consequence of the late delivery of letters in the district, and whether, in view of the fact that the mail does not arrive until after noon each day, he will undertake to have inquiries made in the matter at an early date.

The question of effecting an improvement in the postal services in the Tullow district has been under consideration as a result of representations made from other local Deputies, and proposals have recently been approved under which the mails will arrive at Tullow in future about 9.20 a.m. instead of 12.29 as at present. Some time must, however, elapse before the necessary arrangements can be completed for bringing the new services into operation.
