Vol. 22 No. 7

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - A CASTLEBAR APPLICATION.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether the Irish Land Commission received an application some twelve months ago from John Ruane, of New Antrim Street, Castlebar, for assistance to enable him to build a house on his holding on the Lord Kilmaine Estate (Record No. E.C. 2498); whether the application has been repeated several times since, and whether the Minister is now in a position to say whether the required assistance will be given.

An application for a grant to build a new dwelling house was received by the Land Commission from John Ruane, New Antrim Street, Castlebar, on the 27th May last. The Land Commission having made the necessary inquiries, have sanctioned an advance of £50, repayable by an annuity, and with the approval of the Minister for Finance a grant of £50. An agreement to the repayment of the advance and a deed of mortgage in respect of the grant have been prepared and will shortly be presented to Mr. Ruane for signature.
