Vol. 22 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DUMPING OF FOREIGN-MADE FLOUR.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state when the Tariff Commission is likely to report on the application for a tariff on flour; whether he is aware that dumping of foreign-made flour has increased recently, with a view to forestalling the imposition of a tariff, and that as a result, our mills are unable to compete with the foreign commodity; and whether any steps can be taken to prevent such wholesale dumping.

I understand that the preparation of the report is now proceeding, and that it will be available for presentation shortly. I have no information as to any dumping of foreign-made flour.

Can the Minister say if the Tariff Commission is investigating the complaints as to the alleged dumping of flour?

It is investigating the whole subject.

Is it particularly investigating the question of dumping? I take it that that is the question asked.

I gave my answer.

May we take it that it is not?

You need not take anything except what I said.
