Vol. 23 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - OLD AGE PENSION CLAIMS.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will consider the increase of the old age pension of Edward Donohue, Curraghereen, Lavally, Tuam (aged 80 years), from 6/- to 10/-, in view of his altered circumstances.

No appeal has come up for adjudication in this case, and there is, therefore, no information in my Department concerning it. If the pensioner is prepared to show that his present means would warrant an increase in pension it is open to him to make application to the local pensions officer, showing in what way his means have decreased.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the grounds on which the old age pension was refused to Mrs. Kate Connolly, Derrylassaune, Menlough, Ballinasloe.

It was determined on appeal on 22nd February, 1928, that this claimant was not entitled to any pension, as it was not clear on the evidence submitted that she had attained the statutory age.
