Vol. 23 No. 4

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - BALLA (CO. MAYO) ESTATE.

asked the Minister for Fisheries if he is aware that the LynchBlosse estate, Balla, Co. Mayo, was acquired by the Congested Districts Board in 1908; that two farms, containing about 500 acres (part of O'Connor's lease) on this estate at Poolavaddy, Balla, are still let in grazing; and if he will state the cause of delay by the Land Commission in taking over those farms for the relief of the acute congestion which exists in that locality.

As already stated in reply to previous question of 24th October last, the Land Commission is aware of the position referred to by the Deputy. Major O'Connor's lease has recently expired, and the Land Commission have the matter under consideration.
