Vol. 23 No. 5

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - MAINTENANCE OF KILDARE ROADS.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is now in a position to state what advice was given by the State law officers concerning certain statutory considerations bearing on the incidence of maintenance of public roads; and whether his Department, as successors to the British War Department, intend to honour the agreement reached with the late grand jury of the Co. Kildare in the years 1893 and 1894, by which the War Department were bound to repair and maintain the Lurrig Lane and Curragh eastern boundary roads.

The advice given by the State law officers in this matter is at present under consideration and cannot be communicated. I regret, therefore, that a reply cannot at present be given to the second part of the Deputy's question.
