Vol. 23 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ACQUISITION OF TIPPERARY ESTATE.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether the Land Commission propose to acquire the Lloyd Estate, Longford House, Templemore, County Tipperary, for division among uneconomic holders in the district.

Proceedings have been instituted under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923, for the acquisition of the lands of Longford, including Longford House, containing 35la. 3r. 6p., in this matter. These lands were published in a provisional list of lands which, if not excluded in consequence of a valid objection, would become vested in the Land Commission on the appointed day. A notice of intention to declare that these lands were required for the relief of congestion was published under Section 24 (3) of the Land Act, 1923, contemporaneously with the provisional list. A notice showing cause against the making of a declaration in this case has been lodged by the owner and is at present pending for hearing before the Court of the Land Commission.
