Vol. 23 No. 10

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CO. KILDARE FARM WATER SUPPLY.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether he is aware that the pump erected about six weeks ago, by the Land Commission on the farm of Mr. Michael Duffy, at Rahan, on the Colley-Palmer Estate, Co. Kildare, has been out of order for the past month; whether he is aware that Mr. Duffy is at considerable inconvenience and loss owing to having no water supply, and may have to surrender his farm in consequence; and whether he will give instructions to have this work properly executed at once.

The Land Commission have made several attempts to find water about the boundary of this man's allotment without success and consequently no pump has been sunk. The services of a water diviner are now being requisitioned.

Is the Minister aware that they sunk a well there and erected a pump, and that it went out of order in a fortnight? That is not in the reply.

I indicated that we are taking other steps in order to find water for the Deputy.
