Vol. 23 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. Oral Answers. - DUBLIN-LUCAN TRAMWAY LINE.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware that owing to some unforeseen difficulty which has arisen in connection with his Department, the reconstruction of the tramway line from Dublin to Lucan has been suspended; whether he can state the nature of the difficulty in question; and whether it is possible to meet the Tramway Company in regard to it, so as to permit the work to recommence at an early date.

No difficulty has arisen between the Department of Posts and Telegraphs and the Dublin Tramway Company in respect of the reconstruction of the tramway line from Dublin to Lucan.

The Deputy is probably referring to a section of the line beyond Lucan where the laying of the line as originally planned would overlap a Post Office underground line and necessitate its removal. Discussions are taking place between the Post Office and the Tramway Company as to what steps will be necessary in the matter.
