Vol. 24 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LONGFORD DANCE.

asked the Minister for Education whether he is aware that a dance was held in St. Bernard's National School, Clonbroney, County Longford, on the 6th January, 1928; and whether he can state for what purpose the dance was held.

I am aware that the manager allowed the school to be used for a dance on the date stated, and have his assurance that the dance was of a purely social and parochial character.

Will the Minister state how much the proceeds of the dance were deficient in paying the expenses of the delegates to the Cumann na nGaedheal Convention?

The Deputy has put several questions about these schools. In a former question he made several implications with regard to the answers of the manager. He has had several opportunities of showing that the answers of the manager are not correct, but he has not done so. I suggest to him that he is needlessly wasting the time of the Department and the House in further pursuing this matter.
