CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - INQUIRY INTO STATE EXPENDITURE.
The Committee on Economy in Government Expenditure is still engaged on a detailed examination of expenditure on the various Votes. Thirty-four meetings of the Committee have been held since the 1st August, 1927. I understand that the Committee hopes to be in a position to furnish a Report about April next, but it will be appreciated that, having regard to the magnitude of its task, it is difficult at this stage to state definitely when the Report may be completed.
