CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ACQUISITION OF GALWAY LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state if the following lands in the Laurencetown area, Co. Galway, have been acquired for distribution:— Richard Howard Estate; Hastings Lambert Estate, and William Finney Estate, Ohilmore, Laurencetown, and, if so, when the distribution of these estates will take place.

Proceedings have been instituted by the Land Commission under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923, for the acquisition of the lands of Killivny containing 131a. 3r. 0p. on the estate of Hastings Lambert. These of Killivny containing 78a. 1r. 4p. on the estate of Hastings Lambert. These lands were published in a Provisional List of lands which if not excluded in consequence of a valid objection will become vested in the Land Commission on the Appointed Day. The Land Commission are not in a position to state when these lands will be divided.

The lands of Oghilmore are tenanted lands, being a holding of 281a. 2r. 25p. in the occupation of Wm. H. Finney as tenant on the estate of H. B. Pollock, which is the subject of proceedings under the Land Act, 1923, and the question of its retention, with a view to its resumption, will be considered.
