Vol. 27 No. 5

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LEIX LAND DIVISION SCHEME.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether a division scheme has been drawn up in connection with the lands of Mr. John Duigan, Monamondra, Errill, Leix (Record No. S/4816), and if he will state when same will be put into operation; whether it is proposed to allocate a reasonable sum, and, if so, what amount, for the making of roads, drainage, etc., and whether this necessary improvement work will be carried out before the division scheme is put into operation.

The owner has accepted the offer of the Land Commission for the purchase of the lands of Monamoura, and a scheme for the division is in course of preparation and will be put into operation as soon as possible.

The question of the amount to be allocated for improvement work will be considered in conjunction with the preparation of the resale scheme. The Land Commission are not yet in a position to obtain possession of the lands, and until they have obtained possession improvement works cannot be carried out.
