Vol. 27 No. 5

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - OLD AGE PENSION CLAIM.

TOMAS MAC GIOLLA PHOIL

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether the old age pension of 6/-, granted by the local Pension Committee at Milltown to Catherine Conneelly, Curraghaderry, Milltown, has been approved of by the Department; and, if not, whether he will have the matter reconsidered.

If the question relates to Mrs. Catherine Connolly of the address given by the Deputy, an appeal is at present under consideration on the grounds of (1) unsatisfactory evidence of age, and (2) that means exceed £39 5s. a year, which is the statutory limit for the receipt of a pension. The Dunmore Pension Sub-Committee propose to allow a pension of 6/- a week. I will be prepared to consider any evidence or statement it may be desired to submit as to the claimant's age and means.
