Vol. 27 No. 6

IN COMMITTEE ON FINANCE. - TEACHERS SUPERANNUATION BILL, 1928—MONEY RESOLUTION.

I move:

"Chun críche aon Achta a rithfar sa tSiosón so chun socrú do dhéanamh chun scéimeanna do chur le chéile agus do chur in éifeacht chun pinsin agus aiscí do no mar gheall ar mhúinteoirí agus do no mar gheall ar dhaoine áirithe a bhí ina múinteoirí do sholáthar, go bhfuil sé oiriúnach a údarú go n-íocfar amach as airgead a sholáthróidh an tOireachtas:—

(a) íocaíochtaí isteach i gCiste na bPinsean a cuirfar ar bun chun crícheanna aon scéime aois-liúntais fén Acht san, agus

(b) aon chostaisí fé n-a raghfar i gcur an Achta san in éifeacht.

That for the purpose of any Act of the present Session to make provision for the formulating and carrying out of schemes for the provision of pensions and gratuities for or in respect of teachers and certain former teachers, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys to be provided by the Oireachtas:—

(a) payments into the Pension Fund set up for the purposes of any superannuation scheme under such Act, and

(b) any expenses incurred in carrying such Act into effect."

Of course, the House will understand from the nature of the Bill that it would be impossible to give any indication of the amount of the cost, but the Bill is wide enough to cover all classes of teachers. Naturally any number of schemes may come in under the Bill, and, therefore, it is impossible to mention any particular amount in this connection.

Is áthas liom go mbainfidh an Bille seo le gach aicme múinteoirí, agus tá súil agam go bhféachfar isteach a scéal na múinteoirí a chuaidh amach fén tseanscéim agus, i gcás na gcigirí, go ndéanfar an tréimhse do chaitheadar mar mhúinteoirí d'áireamh nuair a bheadh a bpinsin á áireamh.
