Vol. 27 No. 7

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - DAIL LOAN SUBSCRIPTIONS.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will state why Mr. Thomas Fanning, of Cullintra, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo (Ref. No. 114500) has not been paid the amount of his subscription to the Dáil Loan, seeing that so long ago as April last he furnished the Department with the original receipt for the amount paid by him.

There is no record in my Department of a subscription to the Dáil Eireann Internal Loan in the name of Thomas Fanning of Cullintra, Ballyhaunis, and there are discrepancies between the particulars furnished by the applicant and those contained in the receipt which he has submitted. Mr. Fanning has been requested to furnish a statement in support of his claim from the person to whom his subscription was paid, and on receipt of this the matter will be further considered.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will state why repayments of the Dáil Loan 1919-20 have not been made to Thos. Doyle, Courthoyle, Raheen, Enniscorthy, £6; Denis Doyle, Courthoyle, Raheen, Enniscorthy, £1, and Mrs. Bridget Doyle, Courthoyle, Raheen, Enniscorthy, £1.

asked the Minister for Finance whether applications for repayment of Dáil Loan have been received from John Carroll (£2) Thomas Dalton (£1), Peter Dalton (£1), William Carney (£1), all of Curcreigh, Clooniquin, Co. Roscommon; and whether he can state when the amounts specified will be repaid.

asked the Minister for Finance whether applications for repayment of Dáil Loan have been received from Mrs. Margaret Feeney, John Cunningham, Luke McCormack, Michael Casserly, Norah Murray, Francis Darcy, James Feeney, James Dolan, all of whom subscribed £1 each, and are resident in Rathnaghy, Tulsk, Co. Roscommon; and whether he can state when amounts will be repaid.

I would refer the Deputies to previous replies to similar questions, and to the statement I made in the Dáil on the 22nd June last. The claim of any subscriber who has applied in writing for repayment of his subscription will be dealt with in my Department in due course.
