Vol. 29 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Grant Application.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries why a housing grant has been refused to Christopher Brady, of Shinglis, Ballymore, Westmeath, who recently acquired a holding on the Malone Estate (Rec. No. S. 4573).

Christopher Brady, Shinglis, Ballymore, was provided in January, 1927, with a parcel of untenanted land on the estate of Mrs. C. Malone, County Westmeath, by reason of his losing his employment as herd when the Land Commission acquired this estate. He occupied a thatched cottage situate on these lands, and same was included in the parcel of land allotted to him, and the Land Commission, therefore, was not prepared to incur expenditure on buildings for him.
