I understand that the Tariff Commissioners are not yet in a position to say when their Report on this application will be presented. They have, however, issued a circular letter to all the parties who gave evidence in connection with the application, stating that no action will be taken by them during the spring fishing season which would be likely to affect the existing conditions in the fishing industry in the present year.
Would the Minister say if that particular letter is without prejudice to the ultimate recommendations of the Tariff Commission?

Was the letter sent without the consent of the Executive Council?
My memory is a bit faulty.
Have the Tariff Commissioners any authority under the statute which established them to issue statements to the effect that a tariff on a certain class of article will not be imposed during a period fixed by them?
