Vol. 30 No. 8

Order of Business.

I would propose to take first to-day Estimates for Public Services, beginning with Vote No. 22 (Stationery and Printing). I except that the Minister for Justice will be present later in the evening, and I would then propose to take those Estimates for which he is responsible, beginning with No. 34 (District Court) until 7 o'clock, when I would propose to take the Juries (Protection) Bill, Report Stage.

Might I ask that the President in making an announcement would speak so that the House could hear him?

I cannot hear what the Deputy says.

That is just the difficulty. I would be glad if the President would speak up. I did not hear one single word of what he said except the figure two. I think communications in relation to the Order of Business, if they are made to the Chair, should be made in a form in which the House can hear them.

It is proposed to begin with Estimates for Public Services, Vote 22 (Stationery and Printing), and then to resume on the Estimates for which the Minister for Justice is responsible. It is further proposed to take No. 6, Juries (Protection) Bill, at 7 o'clock.

The President promised me some time ago that he would be able to let me know if a date could be fixed for the consideration of the Report of the Public Accounts Committee.

I except it can be taken about the fourth week in June.

Has the President any idea when the House will adjourn for the Summer Recess?

If I were to express a hope, it would be that it might adjourn before the fourth week in June.
