Vol. 32 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vesting of Waterford Estate.

Seán Ua Guilidhe

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state the reason for the delay in vesting of lands on the Grant estate, Mocollop, Co. Waterford, and the failure to send an inspector to investigate the position of non-judicial tenants on the estate.

The estate of Thomas St. John Grant situated in counties Cork and Waterford is being dealt with under the Land Act, 1923, and a provisional list of the lands which will become vested in the Land Commission on the "Appointed Day" has been published. The county Waterford section of the estate comprises thirty-three holdings situate in the townlands of Countygate, Farranshoneen, Inchinleama East, Inchinleama West, Knockaurroe, Knockboy and Raspberry Hill.

It is anticipated that an inspection of the estate will take place at an early date. The proceedings in the Land Commission in connection with this estate are being carried out as expeditiously as possible.

The standard purchase annuities in the cases of the non-judicial tenancies will be fixed in accordance with the provisions of the Land Act, 1929.
